Jacksonville Carrom Club - Formal Group Structure

Hello Everybody,

JAXCARROM has grown by leaps and bounds in the last year. Our mission is to promote and practice the game of carrom in Jacksonville, FL and have fun playing it. Our goal is also to create a friendly and warm family environment for carrom enthusiasts.

The first carrom tournament in Jacksonville happened by chance and was organized in September 2006 along with Gandhi Memorial Society by Vikas Hawaldar, Ravindra Bandodkar, and Harish Pandit where we had very good participation. Based on the success of the Gandhi Memorial tournament, Vinay Ahuja decided to form a formal Carrom group along with Vikas Hawaldar on September 10th, 2006.

JAXCARROM held two tournaments and had several practice sessions last year. Based on the enthusiastic response from the community and carrom enthusiasts the group increased the number of participants in its first tournament of the year. With more participants came more responsibility. To help the continued growth of our club, we decided to introduce a formal structure to help coordinate the tournaments and to keep the focus on the mission of our group. Following are the new roles of the group.

President: Vikas Hawaldar
Vice President: Vinay Ahuja
Treasurer: Neeraj Kapil
Secretary: Himanshu Mehta

All the above positions have defined responsibilities which will be communicated in a separate email.

The tournaments have had tremendous help of all the players and volunteers without whom we could not have been successful as we have been so far. We want to personally thank all the participants and volunteers for making JAXCARROM group successful and hope to have your continued participation in the tournaments as players as well as volunteers.

Go JAXCARROM! Hope to see you all in the next tournament. Details to follow soon.
